Utility Dept -
*A. We will be smoke testing our sewer system on Oct. 5-7. This testing is necessary to assure the integrity of our wastewater collection system.
*B. We anticipate the start of a major sewer main expansion in the south part of town, shortly. This very important project will take several months to complete. The results of this addition will not only make our collection system more efficient but will also enable us to provide future service needs in that area of town.
*C. We are happy to add a number of new vehicles to our fleet including a trash truck, service truck, tractor, and air compressor. This equipment has replaced very old and undependable units.
FROM THE MAYOR
* On behalf of your town Council and myself, thank you for your vote of confidence by returning us to office unopposed. We will do everything that we can to earn your continued confidence.
*We will miss Greg Bencaz, who was unable to run for another term due to his transfer to an out of state assignment. Greg has served on the board for 9 years. We will miss his friendship and leadership. Welcome new board member Skipper Stewart. I look forward to working with this very bright young man.
*I also look forward to working with the Police Chief elect, Randy Dufrene. Randy has been on the Livingston Police force for 19 years. I expect the transition of this office to be a smooth one. At the same time, I will miss working with current Chief Gary Stewart. Gary has been police chief for 20 years. He has been a good friend and I wish for him only the best in whatever he chooses to do.
*Finally, with regret, it's time to say good bye to another life long friend, Joseph "Rip" Jones. Rip has retired from the Livingston Police Department effective
Oct. 1, 2004. Our town owes a great debt to a man who spent each of his days at work doing nothing less than his very best for our community. His love for this community was obvious as he managed to touch nearly every person in his 14 years of service. Best Wishes Old Friend.
