Mayor Jones is serving his fifth consecutive term in office. Prior to his service as mayor, he has also served as an alderman for the town of Livingston as well as a fire chief for the town.
He is a lifelong resident of Livingston, he and his wife Sheila have six children and fifteen grandchildren, all of whom reside in the town of Livingston.
Prior to beginning his career as mayor, he retired from his families supermarket business. He most misses visiting with the stores customers as he bagged their groceries.
Both he and his late son Paul were popular with the children who accompanied their parents on shopping trips. It seems that they always had candy or gum in their shirt pockets.
The town of Livingston has experienced historical growth during the last decade, the population has grown by one third. Utility systems have been expanded by more than 300%.
Police and fire departments have been modernized; and equipment has been updated. Town Hall has been remodeled with a new meeting room and police department and all office functions
have been computerized. Mayor Jones says none of this could have happened without the help and cooperation of a wonderful town council.
